There are a lot of building contractors out there, but few with the hands-on knowledge and experience which we offer. Our experience in the construction industry runs much deeper than the nearly 20 years we have been operating. Owner, Billy Vaughan, grew up working on his family's farm and helping with his family's plumbing business. Later, he worked in construction material sales including lumber, windows, vinyl, insulation, and commercial piping. He has worked as a framer, interior trim carpenter, a vinyl siding installer, and as an area manager for a major electrical construction company.
We are always glad when we hear that our customers are enjoying their new space and pleased with the service and assistance we provided. The most often repeated feedback we receive from customers is how much they appreciate Billy's depth of knowledge, his flexibility in helping them make their project work, and the quality of our workmanship.
Some of our favorite compliments are from others in the industry who have seen the work out there and can knowledgably compare. Here are some of these:
During a framing inspection not too long ago, the chief framing inspector told our customer that, "it's been many years since I've seen framing of this quality."
Another time, a production builder superintendent visiting one of our jobs took pictures of the framing. The superintendent wanted to bring his own framers back to see "what framing is supposed to look like."
Many of our subcontractors have hired Vaughan Building for their personal projects, one calling Billy, "the most honest man in Wake County."
Billy is a:

" You and your men did a great job with the decking! They had to custom fit pieces and make and fit shims all over the place because none of my concrete surfaces were level, none of the corners were square and no two dimensions were the same. And I appreciate the extra features you suggested such as the PVC piece under the threshold. I'm quite pleased with the way it all turned out--it looks great. The next time I have a project to be done, I'll be calling you."
"I read the N&O article featuring the work you did for the retired couple wanting to retrofit their house to meet ADA guidelines, and it didn't surprise me one bit that you were the only subcontractor they met willing to think outside the box. Because that was our experience with you too. You did a beautiful job..."
